Although 56% of West Virginia's voters are registered as Democrats, make no mistake, the GOP has real power in WV.  The sagging economy, high fuel prices, and anti-Bush sentiment have seriously damaged Republican chances in  Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, and Virginia., but not so much in WV. The GOP is well aware of this situation, and appears to be pulling out all the stops to retain Shelly Moore-Capito in the 2nd Congressional District  and capture WV's 5 electoral votes for the third straight Presidential election.  However, this time Capito faces a very formidable opponent. Democratic challenger Anne Barth pulls no punches in portraying the Republican congresswoman as a rubber stamp for Big Oil and Bush/Cheney crowd, and relentlessly offers Capito's highly partisan voting record as proof.  Critics say Capito was first elected in 2000 because of  Bush and will lose in 2008 because of Bush.  For the rest of the story, CLICK HERE.
